Appointments
Appointments System
We operate an appointment system. We try our best to ensure that you see the doctor or nurse at or near to your appointment time. Sometimes there are delays caused by emergencies or by an earlier patient who needed a longer consultation time. Please be on time for your appointment as we cannot guarantee that you will be seen if you are late.
Book on the day appointments are available from 8.30am in the mornings and 3.30pm in the afternoons. To book an appointment, you may ask at reception, telephone or book online. You will be offered the next available appointment. Prebookable appointments are also available. Email requests for appointments cannot be accepted.
We have two Extended Hour’s sessions on Monday and Fridays from 18:30 to 19:15.
Online and Video Consultations
Online and video consultations enable patients to contact the practice without having to wait on the phone or take time out to come into the practice. Patients can go online to ask questions, report symptoms and upload photos.
The practice uses a software system called AccuRX to facilitate online communication with patients. This allows the practice to correspond via text messaging, enable access to the patient to be able to send responses or photographs and hold video consultations. From time to time we may send you floreys which are online questionnaires, to collate important information.
Should you wish to book a video consultation, please inform the Reception Team who will be happy to set this up for you.
Home Visits
If possible please try to telephone reception before 11:00 if you require a home visit.
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.
You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
